"My Father Deng Xiaoping in the Cultural Revolution" Published"My Father Deng Xiaoping in the Cultural Revolution," a comprehensive biography written by Deng's daughter Maomao has come off the press Tuesday. The book, with 120 rarely-seen family photographs, gives a biographical account of Deng Xiaoping during the decade-long Cultural Revolution (1966-1976), which was widely considered a mistake in New China's history. Removed from all his posts in the beginning of the revolution, Deng was restored as China's vice- premier in 1973, but was later deposed. In the new book, Maomao described her father's unquiet political career in the ten-year period of cultural revolution from a special point of view, telling vividly his profound thinking on China's future and fate, as well as laughter and tears in his family, with many details unveiled to the world for the first time. Through the book we can see clearly Deng's thinking, personality, courage, and integrity as a great man. More than 120 precious pictures are included in this book, many of them released also for the first time. In addition, a CD is also available. Maomao, the youngest daughter of China's late paramount leader has authored one previous book on her father's days as a revolutionary fighter for China's liberalization. That volume, published by the Central Literature Publish House in 1993, was translated into several languages including Japanese, Thai and Korean.
