Happy Family Appealing to Chinese Youth

Young people in China say that a happy family, a successful career and contributing to society are their major pursuits, according to report of "China Youth Daily".

A total of 22.2 percent of the young people polled say that a "happy family" is more important than "a successful career" which was favored by 20.1 percent of the respondents.

"Contributing to society" is favored by 15.7 percent of respondents polled by the China Juvenile Research Center (CJRC) across the country.

A total of 36.8 percent of the youngsters polled say what they love to do most in their spare time is "reading and learning so as to improve their ability" while 52.1 percent of those young people polled say that they work hard in order to "prove their value and get accepted by the society."

And 46.4 percent of the young people polled say that they regard "one for all and all for one" and "be the first to become concerned with the world's troubles and the last to rejoice in its happiness" as their value of life, and 15.7 percent of the youngsters polled say that the aim of their work is to "make contributions to the State and social progress."

A total of 35.7 percent of the young people polled say that the activities to study Deng Xiaoping Theory are successful and 34.3 percent of them say that Deng Xiaoping Theory is scientific and comprehensive.

A total of 88.1 percent of the young people polled say that there has been a great improvement in China's economy.
