China Builds Cross-sea Bridge to Develop Island
China has completed the structure of a cross-sea bridge in the port city of Ningbo in eastern Zhejiang Province in a move to develop an island in East China Sea.
The 4,500-meter-long bridge involves a total investment of 200 million yuan (about 24 million U.S. dollars) from the China International Trust and Investment Corporation (CITIC).
The bridge links the mainland and Daxie Island, close to the port of Beilun.
The structure of the bridge was finally completed on June 24. CITIC plans to develop Daxie Island to turn it into an economic development zone with port, industrial production base and free trade zone.
