China Assists Myanmar in Building School
A cornerstone-laying ceremony for the building of a primary school with the assistance of the Chinese embassy in Myanmar took place Monday.
The ceremony was attended by Myanmar Education Minister U Than Aung, Deputy Ministers Brigadier-General Soe Win Maung and U Myo Nyunt and Chinese Ambassador Liang Dong.
Liang said at the ceremony that the event is of special significance in the days of marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Myanmar.
The school, which can accommodate 500 students, is located in the capital's Yankin township and will be completed by the end of this year.
