China generated 411.679 billion kwh of electricity in the first four months this year, with south China's Guangdong Province registering the greatest power output of 34.513 billion kwh, according to the latest figures from the National Bureau of Statistics.
The province yielded 10.105 billion kwh of electricity in April alone, with the national total standing at 103.721 billion kwh, the bureau said.
Following Guangdong are Shandong and Jiangsu provinces in terms of power generation in the January-April period, with their output at 32.261 billion kwh and 28.123 billion kwh respectively.
All three provinces are economic powerhouses in China's coastal areas.
