Murderers of Taiwan Businessmen Executed

Two murderers who were convicted of robbery and manslaughtering two Taiwan business people on April 28 were executed Friday in Dongguan City of south China's Guangdong Province.

Both Hu Zhongwang and Hu Luobing were farmers from Tongcheng County of central China's Hubei Province. The 23-year-old Hu Zhongwang once worked as a guard at Changyi Plastic Products Co. Ltd which was operated by Taiwan businessmen Lin Fuyuan and Lin Fuming, who were brothers. Hu Zhongwang was fired this March for breaking the plant's rules.

The victims, Lin Fuyuan and Lin Fuming, both from Changhua County in Taiwan,, were the general manager and deputy general manager of the Changyi Plastic Products Plant, respectively, at Shatou Village, Chang'an Town in Dongguan.

Police said that the criminals confessed they sneaked into the victims' bedrooms on the third floor at three a.m. of April 28, hit their heads with iron water pipes and then stole 2,100 yuan and two cellular phones.

The two criminals were sentenced to death by the Dongguan City Intermediate People's Court on June 2. The two were also deprived of their political rights for life and confiscated of all personal properties.

Both criminals did not appeal. The Intermediate People's Court of Dongguan City then referred the capital punishment to Guangdong Provincial Higher People's Court which approved the execution.
