India, Russia to Sign Protocol for Defense Cooperation
India and Russia will sign a protocol to strengthen defense co-operation during a five day visit of Defense Minister George Fernandes to that country beginning on June 26.
The protocol will be signed by Fernandes and his Russian counterpart Marshal I. Sergeev, an official statement said Sunday.
During the visit, Fernandes is scheduled to hold significant one-to-one and delegation level talks with Marshal Sergeev and witness a flight demonstration of the SU-30 MKI, a version of SU-30 K, a multirole aircraft specially tailored to Indian requirements, it added.
