Premier Meets HK Industrial, Commercial Delegation
Premier Zhu Rongji Friday met with a Hong Kong industrial and commercial delegation headed by Henry Ying Tung Fok, at the Great Hall of the People.
Zhu spoke highly of the efforts made by the Hong Kong industrial and commercial circle in promoting common prosperity and economic cooperation between Hong Kong and China's interior.
The premier expressed the hope that friends from the Hong Kong industrial and commercial circle will continue to play roles in safeguarding the long-term stability and prosperity of Hong Kong, and in supporting the economic development of China's interior.
In addition, he called on them to support the administration of the Hong Kong SAR headed by Tung Chee-hwa.
The premier said that China has launched the strategy of developing its western regions, and he urged HK industrial and commercial personnel to actively participate in the development drive.
