Ruins with Dragon Design Discovered in Central ChinaChinese archaeologists have discovered a dragon design dug into earth in central China's Henan Province. The dragon design, 34 meters long and 0.4 to 0.6 meters wide, is believed to belong to the Neolithic Age (about 4,000 to 10,000 years ago). The design was found in Lushan County. The ruins were probably a sacrificial place where the dragon was dug as a totem, they said. The dragon is said to be an animal that can summon wind and rain, and flies in heaven. It has been worshipped throughout history as a divine mythical animal and a symbol of the country's fortune. |
