Henan Province: Huge Potential for Exports to EU
The export of Henan province to EU has witnessed a fast growth since this year. The data from Zhengzhou Customs shows that from January to May, the value of this province's export to EU reached 0.139 billion dollars, including export of 90 million dollars and import of 48 million dollars, which meant a favorable trade balance of 41 million dollars.
EU market is a free trade market resulting from economic integration of western industrial nations, which have always been the target of numerous group-enterprises to scramble for. To open up EU market has always been an object that the foreign trade enterprises in Henan are endeavoring for. At present, the export from Henan to EU is mainly concentrated in general and processing trade, which hit USD75.22 million and USD 14.438 million respectively, the major export commodities being antibiotics, carpets, copper alloys and cotton packing bags. This province has trade relationship with 15 member countries in EU, the export values to Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium all exceeding 10 million dollars in the first five months.
With the constant improvement of export commodity structure, there is further room to manoeuvre for developing export commodities to EU from Henan province, which, as a market with huge potential, should merit great attention of the exporting firms.
