U.S., Japan, South Korea to Discuss Korean Peninsula Situation
Representatives of Japan, South Korea and the United States are expected to meet in Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 29-30 to exchange views on the situation in the Korean Peninsula.
U.S. State Department spokesman Philip T. Reeker said the two-day meeting will be convened to discuss a "range of issues in our on-going coordination of policy toward" the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
The trilateral meeting, the first of its kind since the historic summit between leaders of the DPRK and South Korea last week, was formalized in Hawaii in April 1999 and is known as the Trilateral Coordination and Oversight Group.
