Luo is also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. He said that courts should provide judicial guarantees and legal services for the development of China's social productive forces, and for the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the Chinese people. Under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee, courts across the country have made steady progress in enhancing professional quality over the years, he said. However, corruptive practices exist among some court employees, and violations against the law take place from time to time, undermining the reputation of courts and judges and tarnishing the image of the Party and government, he said.
