ROK agrees to DPRK's Proposal on Red Cross Conference Location

Our staff correspondent reports from Seoul today: ROK agrees to DPRK's Proposal on Red Cross Conference Location.

On June 21, North Korea revised its suggestions for the location of the South-North Red Cross conference, at which they will exchange plans for the visiting of seperated family groups, suggesting the area near Mount Kumgang. North Korea made this sudden change after they first suggested on June 17, when the conference was first suggested, that Panmunjom would be a good location.

Jang Jae-on, Pyongyang's Red Cross Chief had written in his letter to Chung Won-shik, the (South) Korean Red Cross President, "I changed my suggestion to Kumgangsan Hotel because I think it is a more comfortable location for us to have this discussion." "It will cause no problems to us if we delay the date for several days if the current date of June 23 is too soon for you," added Chief Jang.

South Korea now suggested the conference be held from June 27 to June 30.
