Overseas Tourists Bring in US$6.5 Bln

China's revenue from overseas tourists in the first five months of this year hit US$6.5 billion, up 18.5 per cent over the same period last year, according to the National Tourism Administration.

The latest figures from the administration show that a total of 33.4 million overseas tourists visited China during the period, a rise of 15.8 per cent over a year earlier.

The number of tourists from the Republic of Korea increased by 40 per cent, those from Russia and the Philippines by over 30 per cent, and those from France, Indonesia and Japan by over 20 per cent.
