E-Commerce Association Welcomed

China's Ministry of Information Industry (MII) launched the national association for electronic commerce in Beijing on Wednesday.

The China Electronic Commerce Association (CECA) will be chaired by Song Ling, director of the information promotion department of MII.

Song said that CECA will try to urge the government to remove all barriers to the development of e-commerce and it will be a bridge between the government and e-commerce operators, she said.

It will promote development of e-commerce via research, investigation, consulting, training and exhibition, the report says.

China's e-commerce turnover was estimated at 55 million yuan last year.
