Icelandic President Meets China's Top Prosecutor

Icelandic President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson held a meeting with visiting Chinese chief procurator, Han Zhubin, Wednesday at the presidential office in Reykjavik.

Grimsson held friendly talks with Han, Procurator-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China, who is leading a Chinese delegation on a four-day visit to Iceland at the invitation of Icelandic procuratorial organs.

He briefed Han on the history and reforms of Icelandic judicial bodies, and expressed hope to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, exchange information and learn from each other.

Han told Grimsson about China's efforts to improve legality and judicial reforms. He said that it is important to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation between the procuratorial bodies of the two countries for promoting judicial reforms and legality.

He expressed hope that his visit will contribute to exchanges and cooperation between the judicial organs of the two countries, especially their procuratorates, and to the development of friendly Sino-Icelandic relations.
