The 11th China Harbin Economic and Trade Fair closed Wednesday in this capital city of Heilongjiang Province, northeast China, posting a trading volume of US$5.7 billion-worth, surging more than 20 percent compared with last year's event.
Wang Zhenchuan, deputy governor of Heilongjiang, said that since the annual Harbin Trade Fair started ten years ago, it has become a major event, serving as a trading link between China and the Commonwealth of Independent States, the European Union and the United States.
The seven-day fair this year attracted over 5,000 businesspeople from 50 countries and regions, including Russia, Ukraine, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom and South Africa.
