East China Province to Combat Pollution
East China's Shandong Province will invest four billion yuan (about 480 million U.S. dollars) in the coming decade to control water pollution, officials said.
Water pollution has got worse in Shandong along with its rapid economic development. To deal with this problem, the province has already set up 27 sewerage treatment plants.
The government has encouraged enterprises to introduce foreign technology or develop their own technologies to control pollution.
