China to Sell Cheap Plane Tickets to Teachers, Students
Teachers and students in China will continue to enjoy a discount on airplane tickets for domestic flights during the coming summer vacation, an official of the General Administration of Civil Aviation said on June 20.
Teachers and students must present official certification when they buy plane tickets if they want the discount, which is 25 percent for teachers and 40 percent for students, the official said.
Discounted tickets must be bought three days in advance, and will be available at certain ticket offices from July 1 to September 15.
The General Administration of Civil Aviation and the State Development Planning Commission jointly gave a directive in 1999, restricting discounts on sales of plane tickets, but allowed an exception for teachers and students.
