China's First Exhibition Center of Navigational Aids Opens
China recently opened its first exhibition center featuring maritime navigational aids in Qinhuangdao, a coastal city in north China's Hebei province.
The center is sponsored by the state government, according to an official from the State Maritime Safety Administration.
Navigational aids have long been used by water traffic controllers in China to keep water transportation safe and smooth, said the official.
China has formed a comprehensive maritime navigational network, with 40,000 navigational devices. Six of the country's oldest lighthouses have been listed as world-class cultural relics.
