A Sino-Singaporean seed breeding center was recently established in Hefei, capital of east China's Anhui Province.
The Singapore-Fengle Seed Breeding Center, co-funded by the State University of Singapore and the Hefei Fengle Seed Co., Ltd., will focus on research and development of transgenetic seeds.
The cooperation, part of a series of cooperative projects in bio-engineering between China and Singapore, will last for 10 years.
A postdoctoral seed research station, the first of its kind in China, has also been set up in the center.
