Enterprise Online Project Launched
The enterprise online project, co-sponsored by Data Communication Bureau of China Telecom and Economic Information Center under the State Economic and Trade Commission, has been launched on June 19 in Beijing.
Since China Telecom and Economic Information Center under the State Economic and Trade Commission (SETC) initiated enterprise online project jointly with more than 60 information departments of ministries and commissions in early 1999, much success has been achieved.
A continuation of government online project, enterprise online project is designed to step up China's informationalization and usher in the network era by China. It is conducive to promote a restructuring of the Chinese economy and upgrading of the country's industries and create a new phase of reform and development by state-owned enterprises.
The project can help enterprises change their management mechanism, establish a modern enterprise system, improve management level and competition. Its goal is to make sure that 1 million small-sized, 10,000 medium and 100 large enterprises go online in one year.
To speed up the development of enterprise online project, an agreement has been signed by China National Petrochemical Corporation and many others from finance, insurance, petroleum, chemicals, household electric appliance, steel, aeronautics, auto, textile, food and building materials industries in developing cooperation with China Telecommunications (Group) Co. as the first batch of China Telecom e-commerce demonstration enterprises.
