Top Leaders Offer Condolences for Death of Head of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

Top Chinese leaders, including Jiang Zemin, Li Peng, Zhu Rongji, Li Ruihuan, Hu Jintao, Wei Jianxing and Li Lanqing, have expressed their condolences for the death of Yun Bulong, chairman of the People's Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The Inner Mongolia leader, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), was killed in a car accident on June 12, while making an inspection visit to Xilin Gol League of the autonomous region. He was 62.

Yun, an ethnic Mongolian, was born in December 1937. In 1962, after graduating from the Taiyuan Engineering Institute, he worked in a heavy machinery plant in Taiyuan.

He became a vice-chairman of the regional government in 1992 and took over as the chairman of the regional government in 1998.
