Shandong Wants Overseas Funds for All Key Projects

Shandong Province in east China is looking for overseas investment in all of its important and large-scale construction projects, according to provincial governor Li Chunting.

He told a meeting here recently that the introduction of more overseas funds to major projects will be the key to helping the province open wider to the outside world, adding that greater efforts should be made on absorbing funds from major transnational companies.

"We welcome those companies to set up manufacturing centers, research and development centers and operation centers, as well as regional headquarters in Shandong," he added.

Located on China's east coast, Shandong is the third-largest economic powerhouse in the country after Guangdong and Shanghai.
