NPC Vice-Chairman Meets Ecuadorian Parliament Leader

Cheng Siwei, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), met Sunday with Juan Jose Pons Arizaga, president of the Chamber of Representatives of Ecuador, and his delegation.

Cheng, on behalf of Chairman Li Peng of the NPC Standing Committee, extended a welcome to the visitors, and said that bilateral relations have been developing steadily since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1980.

He said he hopes that parliaments of the two countries will increase exchanges and cooperation to promote the development of Sino-Ecuadorian relations.
