Hi-tech and Internet Forum Starts in Beijing

Chinese and overseas scholars gathered in Beijing Saturday to discuss prospects of Internet industries and the international venture capital to China.

At the First China Economy Forum and Hi-Tech Enterprises Through Listing Presentation, Chinese senior officials, researchers and industry leaders will discuss the role of the Net in China's economy and the development of individual businesses.

The forum will also help cultivate and popularize a group of promising Chinese enterprises, which need venture capital, said organizers.

The two-day forum, organized by the Beijing Guoyan Scientific and Cultural Exchange Center, will also discuss new enterprise management techniques, e-commerce, and financing for hi-tech enterprises.

The Forum has two website^Officials from NASDAQ and the Canadian Venture Exchange were invited to talk about listing procedures in overseas securities markets.

Well-known economists from China and overseas are attending the forum.

Experts here expect the forum to help Chinese officials and business managers shape innovative management methods, and stimulate cooperation between hi-tech enterprises and venture capital.
