Beijing-Shanghai Expressway to Open Within the Year

The Beijing-Shanghai Express, with a total length of 1280 kilometre as China's transport artery, will open to the public within this year.

The Beijing-based China News Service reported Saturday that the express, which has witnessed completion of most routes, is now entering the final stage of contruction.

It will open to the public before December 8 this year.

So far, China has expressways totalling 10,000 kilometres, and is now considered to a big nation with expressway links.
