Hong Kong to Hold Spring/Summer 2001 Fashion Week

The upcoming Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2001 in next month will be the premier regional forum for fashion trend and information, according to the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC) Friday.

A record-breaking number of more than 420 regional exhibitors, up 23 percent from the previous year, will converge to showcase their latest merchandise at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.

Encouraging response are received from Bangladesh, the Chinese mainland, India and Taiwan, with all of them also to stage their own pavilions during the fair, the TDC revealed.

Over 30 designers will illustrate their creative flair at a series of fashion parade. Well-known Hong Kong designers will kick off the opening night on July 11 with glamour and style at the Hong Kong Fashion Extravaganza Show.

The Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2001 will also feature 10 seminars with topics ranging from the latest Computer- Aid Design (CAD) technology, trend presentations to the latest e- commerce development in the apparel industry.

The Hong Kong Fashion Week, scheduled on July 11-14, is expected to attract 13,000
