China to Fully Carry out ISO 14000 Environmental Management System
At present, China has started the work of bringing the authentication of its environmental management system in line with the international practice, and it will carry out the ISO14000 serial standard for environmental administration.
ISO14000 series, a kind of modern environmental management method, is another management system standard following the ISO 9000. China started the experimental work of authentication of this standard in 1996. In May 1997, led by the State Environmental Protection Administration, the Chinese environmental management system authentication guidance committee, composed of 33 departments, was founded to manage China's authentication work of ISO 14000.
The introduction of ISO 14000 will promote the full-course control of pollutants and clean production, standardize China's environmental protection to make it more comply with the international community's requirement for environmental protection and provide Chinese enterprises with a valid "pass" to break through the green barriers of international trade.
