Ancient Rock Tombs Discovered In SW China

A group of 142 tombs built on rocks which date back to the Han Dynasty (206 B.C.-220 A.D.) were discovered in Bazhong City, southwest China's Sichuan Province, recently.

These tombs stretch for more than 3,000 meters along the rocks surrounding the Huacheng Reservoir, and was said to be buried underwater when the reservoir was built in 1958.

Local people found these tombs when they were repairing the reservoir. They also found sculptures inside the tombs and stone steles near the tombs.
