National Small Commodities Fair Slated For October

The 2000 China Small Commodities Fair has been scheduled for October 26-30 in Yiwu, the country's largest center for the production and distribution of small commodities in the eastern coastal province of Zhejiang.

Domestic and overseas manufacturers, such as Siemens, Phillips, Changhong, Little Swan, and trade representatives from the U.S., Britain, Germany, Japan and the ROK, have shown interest in attending the five-day event.

The annual gala, which began in 1995, is jointly sponsored by the Zhejiang provincial government, the State Administration of Light Industry, the State Administration of Internal Trade, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

Business turnover of the fair last year surpassed 17.5 billion yuan.
