Kim Dae-jung Leaves for Seoul, Wrapping Up Three-Day Trip to Pyongyang

Kim Dae-jung Leaves Pyongyang
A plane carrying ROK President Kim Dae-jung, first lady Lee Hee-ho and his entourage took off from Sunan Airport at 4:22 p.m.(local time), Thursday.

The takeoff marked the conclusion of President Kim's successful three-day visit to Pyongyang for historic summit talks with DPRK leader Kim Jong-il.

Kim Jong-il was present at the airport to see Kim Dae-jung off.

The two Kims slowly moved while making a ceremonial honor guard inspection, along the way women shook bouquets of pink paper flowers enthusiastically shouting 'Hurrah! Hurrah!'

After the inspection, Kim and Lee exchanged farewell handshakes with North Korean officials, and received flowers from children.

Then, the North Korean leader shook hands with the South Korean official delegation.

At the foot of steps to the presidential plane, the two leaders warmly hugged each other.

President Kim and his wife boarded the plane at 4:13 p.m.

The plane is scheduled to land at the Seoul Airport after 5 p.m.
