Whampoa Military Academy Alumni Association Calls for Earlier Reunification
A forum was held Tuesday by the Alumni Association of Whampoa Military Academy to mark the 76 anniversary of its founding. Vice Chairman Li Yuanchang of the Association called on all former Whampoa cadets to follow the teaching of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, carry forward the Whampoa spirit of patriotism and revolution and together with their Chinese compatriots fight for closer cross-Strait relations and China's earlier reunification.
Those present at the forum are: Ren Jianxin, vice-president of the CPPCC, Li Ganliu, vice-president of Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, Yu Zeyong, general secretary of the United Fort Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, and Yang Yindong, vice chairman of the Alumni Association of Whampoa Military Academy. The meeting was presided by Vice Chairman Lin Shangyuan. In his speech, Li Yunchang, on behalf of the Association and Chairman Li Moan, extended his good wishes to all former Whampoa cadets in China and abroad. He said that Whampoa cadets spurn all foreign aggression and would always fight bravely for the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the motherland.
