China Evacuates Nationals from Solomons

Chinese nationals who are willing to leave the Solomon islands, where a coup de'tat took place days ago, have been evacuated from the islands, according to sources from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

After the military conflict on the Solomons on June 5, hundreds of Chinese nationals, including compatriots from Hong Kong and Taiwan, requested help from the motherland to leave the islands as soon as possible.

Relevant departments of the Chinese government responded immediately.

With humanitarian help from Australia and New Zealand, Chinese nationals willing to leave have been flown out. Some Chinese nationals were also flown to Australia.
