Huge Painting Marks Opening of 21st Century Forum

A group of celebrated artists who are members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) donated a huge Chinese painting to the organizer of the "21st Century Forum -- 2000 Conference", which opened in Beijing Wednewsday.

The painting was jointly made by Yu Xuezhi, Wang Chengxi, Wang Mingming, He Jiaying and Wang Linxu as a gift to mark the opening of the meeting.

Both domestic and foreign participants of the conference were pleased to see the painting at its unveiling this noon.

Ye Xuanping, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, former Australian Prime Minister John Malcolm Fraser, Singaporean Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew and former Botswana President Ketumile Masire signed their names on the painting.
