Four Die, 40 Missing after Boat Capsizes in China

Four people died and more than 40 were missing after a boat capsized on a river in China's southwestern province of Sichuan, the official Shanghai-based Xinmin Evening News said on Wednesday.

The boat carrying dozens of villagers turned over and sank on Tuesday in the Jialing River, in the township of Yangkou in Nanchong city, the newspaper said. An official at the Yangkou Township government declined to comment.

Last November, 280 people died when a ferry caught fire and capsized off the coast of the eastern province of Shandong in one of China's worst shipwreck disasters.
