PLA Chief of General Staff Meets Romanian Guests

Fu Quanyou, chief of the General Staff of Chinese People's Liberation Army, met Tuesday with Mihail Popescu, chief of the ground forces of Romania.

Fu, also a member of the Central Military Commission, said that the frequent exchange of visits between senior military officers of the two countries promotes the relations between the two armed forces, which conforms to the fundamental interests of the two peoples and benefits regional and world peace and stability as well.

Fu also thanked the Romanian government for upholding the One- China stance. He said that to realize reunification of the motherland is the trend of history, and the common aspiration of all Chinese including Taiwan compatriots.

Popescu said that Romanian armed forces have paid much attention to developing friendly relations with Chinese armed forces, and is ready to further the bilateral exchanges.
