NPC Chairman Hold Talks with Yugoslav Leaders
Bozovic said the Yugoslav parliament supports the one-China principle and appreciates China's stance against Taiwan independence. Li said the sovereignty of one country cannot be violated, and China opposes the practice of using human rights as a pretext to interfere in internal affairs of other countries. Li urged more co-operation between the Chinese and Yugoslav parliaments.
Late Monday, Li was holding talks with Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic who visited China in 1997 and with President Jiang Zemin signed a statement on bilateral friendship and co-operation. | ||
