Chinese Army Develops Mobile Telecom System
A military university has developed a mobile telecommunications exchange platform which is expected to help increase the communicating capability of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) in the wartime.
The new system, known as distributed general mobile exchange platform, is developed by the Information Technology Institute of the Information Security College of the PLA Information Engineering University.
When the main body of the system is destroyed, any subordinate part of the system could be upgraded to play the main role, according to experts.
Early this month, the system passed an official appraisal organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
