Hottest Day in Beijing This Summer

Heat waves and scorching sunshine - - Beijing Tuesday sees the hottest weather since the beginning of this summer.

Local weather report showed that at 14:00 today, air temperature at some places in downtown Beijing like Yongdingmen and Xizhimen exceeded 39 degrees centigrade, and in the Lizeqiao area, the temperature even exceeded 39.8 degrees centigrade, close to the highest historical record of the same period in Beijing.

The hot weather will last two to three days until a thunder storm comes on June 17 and 19, local meteorological observatory said.

According to local observatory, the current hot weather is normal, however, one should take protection measures against ultraviolet radiation in the sunshine when going out due to the lack of cloud in the sky.
