Forum on China's E-business Opens in Hong KongThe e-China Forum 2000, the first notion-wide forum on developing successful e-business models in China debuted Tuesday at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.With the theme of "Successful e-Business Model", the forum covers a wide range of topics, including China's e-business development, enterprise extranet and internet, and e-business solutions. The forum is aimed at providing buyers and solution providers with a unique platform to identify the business opportunities in this promising market by bringing together international speakers, regional business leaders and renowned internet entrepreneurs to address the event. "The forum provides the opportunity to learn from China's mainland entrepreneurs their achievements in developing successful e-business models, which are useful practical references for new comers to the China e-business market," said Thomas Tang, one of the organizer of the forum. Tang, also executive director of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, said that through its various sessions on strategies and technologies in e-business development and globalization of enterprise, the forum will no doubt bring new insight to traditional trade and industries on the challenges of the digital economy. A dozen of keynote speakers from China's State Information Center, the State Economic and Trade Commission, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, China Telecom, IBM, SGI, Novell HK Ltd. and Motorola Asian Pacific Ltd. will address the various aspects in developing successful e-business in the two-day event. According to the organizers of the forum, following its launch in Hong Kong, the forum will be held consecutively in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Wuhan and Guangzhou.
