China-Botswana Economic and Trade Seminar Held

Visiting Botswana President Festus Mogae said Tuesday that though Botswana is a small country, it could offer an ideal environment for foreign entrepreneurs to carry out business activities and investment.

The president made the remarks at the China-Botswana Economic and Trade Seminar.

He said Botswana is politically stable, has perfect infrastructural facilities and rich management experience, and is drafting a series of preferencial policies to attract foreign investments, and all these will provide facility for Chinese entrepreneurs to do business on the African markets.

He voiced the hope to further develop his country's economic and trade ties with China.

Yu Xiaosong, president of China's Council for Promotion of International Trade, replied that Chinese entrepreneurs are willing to participate in the economic construction of Botswana as both countries have strong complementarities in their economies.

Bilateral trade volume was 8.16 million U.S. dollars last year.
