More Than 10 Scientific Research Institutes Ready to Apply for Listing
After one year of efforts, the industrial and commercial registration has been by and large completed with respect to the work of transforming the operational mechanism of the 242 scientific research institutes in line with enterprise management which are affiliated to 10 State bureaus under the jurisdiction of the State Economic and Trade Commission. More than 10 institutes are prepared to apply for listing.
An official with the Ministry of Science and Technology confirms that this indicates a substantial progress in China's science and technology structural reform. Among the institutes which have finished the transformation of the operational mechanism, Beijing Nonferrous Metal Institute and Iron & Steel Research Institute have succeeded in listing. China Coal Research Institute, Southwest Chemical Industry Institute and Changsha Mining and Metallurgical Institute have passed the appraisal for listing by hi-tech enterprises.
Sources say that the institutes, which have entered enterprises, have become important support to enterprise technological development.
