Fossilized Skulls Found in East China ProvinceArchaeologists recently stumbled upon five pieces of fossilized human skulls in Tonglu County near Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province.The archaeologists obtained the human fossils as well as more than 30 items of fossilized animal bones in two caves, in which primitive people resided in the late Neolithic Period (10,000 - 4, 000 B.C.), Wenhui Daily reported Monday. An excavation team from the Zhejiang Natural Museum also found two animal bones which experienced several cuts by the primitive residents, the newspaper said. Except a human tooth unearthed in 1974 in Jiande County, the archaeologists had never found fossils of remote humans in the economically-developed province. |
