China imported a total of 22.72 million tons of crude oil during the first four months this year, representing a 1.2-fold increase over the same period of last year, according to today's China Petrochemical News.

China's expenditure on crude oil import showed a 3.6-fold increase in the first four months as compared with the same period of last year, due to the rise of crude oil price in the international markets, said the paper.

Meanwhile, the country imported 5.36 million tons of finished oil products in the same period, showing a drop of 22.1 percent. However, the expenditure on the import of finished oil products increased by 35.4 percent to 980 million US dollars.

In addition, China imported 1.56 million tons of liquefied petroleum gas, dropping 9 percent, with spending rising 41 percent to 460 million US dollars, the paper said.
