China's Lithium Ion Battery Better than Same Type Product Abroad

The rechargeable lithium ion battery developed by Professor Wang Rongshun, doctoral tutor of Northeastern Normal University, has passed appraisal lately in Changchun, capital of northeastern China's Jilin Province. The appraisal committee considered that the achievement is of great scientific significance and has a bright future in application.

The research and development of the battery, led by Professor Wang, also China's famous quantum chemistry and organic-conductive material expert, is one of the sub-tasks of the "structural conductive plastic", a brainstorm project in China's "seventh five year plan". The battery is conducted by lithium ion, which if added in some mixtures can be used repeatedly. The rechargeable lithium ion battery used for cellular phone is made of 4 parts that include anode, negative pole, electrolyte and crust, yet the core part of anode and negative pole has so far relied mainly on imports.

From 1992 on, through indefatigable efforts, Professor Wang has proved that the battery has a rechargeable life-span of 450 times, being 100 times over the same type of product, and its working voltage and specific capacity and other technological indexes are also higher than that of the similar type.
