Famous Hong Kong Company Invests in Telecom Device ManufactureA joint venture to produce telecommunications devices involving Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. of Hong Kong was established today in Chongqing, the largest municipality in west China.The new company marks the mainland debut of the renowned Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. in the manufacturing of telecom devices. The Hutchison Aoputai Communication Technology Ltd. is co- invested by Hutchison Whampoa Ltd., China Putian Information Industry Group, and Chongqing Aoputai Communication Technology Ltd. The joint venture has a registered capital of 57 million yuan ( 6.9 million U.S. dollars), with total investment of 143 million yuan (17 million U.S. dollars). The mainland investors hold 65 percent of the stakes. The new company is expected to focus on fiber-optic devices for communication, and network management systems. |
