China to Select Procurators Through Exams

The Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) will organize national examinations to select procurators, according to the latest issue of the weekly magazine "Outlook".

The exams aim to build a more highly-trained team of prosecutors, SPP officials said. There are about 7,200 procurator vacancies across the country, which will be filled with those who pass the national exams.

Meanwhile, procuratorates at all levels will be streamlined, and unqualified employees will lose their jobs, the official said.

Qiu Xueqiang, head of the Political Department of the SPP said that at least three chief procurators under 45 will be employed in every procuratorate in the country. Chief procuratorates will serve a limited period before being moved to another post.
