Policy Not to Change Despite Government Changes: Polish PMPoland will adhere to its previous political policies no matter what happens to the government, said Polish Prime Minister Jerzy Buzek Wednesday night."Stability and continuity are of much significance in politics, "he said when delivering a speech on TV, noting that the June 6 collapse of the center-right coalition will not affect his leadership in the government. The Freedom Union (UW), Poland's second largest party, broke up from the ruling coalition led by Buzek's Solidarity Election Action (AWS), after rows of economic reforms, leaving the government a minority one. Buzek, still the leader of the government according to the constitution, appealed in his speech for an all-party cooperation of every political power. He also said that to solidify the country's image of political and economic stability is a priority among four major tasks facing his government. The other three are to prepare crucial negotiations with European Union members of its entry into the bloc, to discover and rectify any shortcomings and mistakes of the undergoing reform and to work out a draft budget propitious to the whole development. |
