China's industrial production grew by 11.5 per cent in May over the same month last year, to 196.3 billion yuan (US$23.7 billion), the State Statistics Bureau said Friday.
In April, industrial growth stood at 11.4 percent, the bureau said in a statement.
In the first five months of 2000, industrial production grew by 11 percent over the same period last year, to 890.4 billion yuan (US$107.3 billion) the bureau said.
Industrial exports grew by 22.7 percent in May over the corresponding month last year and by 26.9 percent in the first five months of 2000.
